Last Wednesday, Kyle and I participated in our first teaching opportunity at Jeffers Elementary School as part of a Junior Achievement program called "JA in a day". Junior Achievement is a nonprofit organization providing a series of business, economics, and life-skills programs to enhance the education of young people.
Eager to participate in the program, Kyle and I spent several hours working on the provided lesson plan and activities for our class. Our biggest challenge was to make sure we could present the lesson in a way that was fun and interactive at the 5th grade level. Our five teaching sessions were focused on Entrepreneurship and Marketing, Resources, Job Skills, Careers, and the global economy. It was a fun and fulfilling opportunity that we are both very proud to have taken part in!
